So you are finally ready to move away from the club gear and buy your own? Well, you will be happy to hear that there are many different options to fit your specific needs. You can buy used gear for a lot cheaper, but still in great condition, or you can buy top of the line brand new gear. Its all up to you. Paddles, boats, skirts, helmets, pfds, and anything else you may need can all be found here. All we want to do is provide you with the links and information of the options to you. Boatwerks Classifieds is a perfect place for all the new paddlers to start buying gear. Boaters selling equipment and gear post their ads here for people to browse through and buy. You can find anything on this site, from boats to paddles, to paddling gloves. Just keep a constant lookout as there is always new stuff going up. If you are unsure about the price someone is selling gear at then feel free to ask your friendly CUKC execs and they’ll let you know. Boatwerks also is a small paddling shop that sells new kayaking gear located in Minden, ON and Haliburton, ON. So if you have a cottage out there, then check out this website as well to see what new gear they sell.

Level Six is a kayak apparel company that specializes in dry suits, dry tops, etc. They provide top quality gear to keep you comfortable in any weather condition. Looking for a new dry top, new rash guard, some cool kayaking t-shirts, or outdoor jackets? You can find that all here and more. They have their main store located right here in Ottawa and also sell all their products in the stores listed below. They also sell a wide variety of kayaking gear, such as high performance whitewater skirts, neoprene gloves and much more. Please check out their website for a full listing of their products.

Mountain Equipment Co-op is a large outdoor retail store with locations across Canada, with one located here in Ottawa. To best describe the store: they have anything you could possible need for your outdoor adventures. Biking, hiking, rock-climbing, and (which you are probably interested in) kayaking. They offer a variety of kayaking gear and boats. Their specialization for kayaks are the Piranha brand, so if you are looking for one of these kayaks, this is the store to visit. They also do kayak rentals for the summer (if you wanted to try out that boat before buying).

This store is completely dedicated to anything kayaking. They have whitewater gear, sea kayaking, and SUP boards. They have a very extensive selection of whitewater kayaks, gear, and paddles. The main kayak brands sold at Paddle Shack are Jackson and Wavesport kayaks. Other brands are Titian, Dagger, Big Dog and Esquif. They also have demo nights of kayaks during the summer for you to come try out some new boats, or you can rent equipment and kayaks from them if you want a longer trial. Another store that sells products for a variety of outdoor activities. They have specialized sections of products depending on the season (ie. a giant ski section in the winter). They have a good selection of kayaks and kayaking gear and are located in the same facility as Paddle Shack. They also offer rentals and have a large selection of sea kayaks and canoes. Show your membership card here and you will get a nice club discount!
