Spring Trip 2019

Spring Trip Sign-Up is now CLOSED. Email events@cukc.ca or message us on Facebook to inquire about late sign ups.

The Carleton University Kayak Club runs semi-annual trips to the Ottawa river for a weekend of kayaking. The rapid section of the Ottawa river is one of the worlds best locations for whitewater kayaking as it is very beginner friendly. Spring trip is a great time to get out on the water and tune up your skills for the season. Due to the cold water at this time of year you must have a solid flatwater roll and kayaking skills to attend the trip. However, whitewater experience is not necessary. We will be joined by world class kayaking instructors who will teach all the basics of the sport and who will ensure you have a fun and safe descent down the river. Kayaks and gear can be rented if needed!

Advanced paddlers; we want (and need) you! If you can help lead, instruct, or be available to help with rescue that would be fantastic. You can also just show up and show off all your fancy moves to impress beginners and get them stoked.

Novice and intermediate paddlers Spring trip is a great opportunity to work on your skills in a river surrounded by tons of paddlers who will help you out.

Also, you do not have to be a university student to join us on this trip. Community members are always welcome.

We will be camping at PQ Pavillion at Wilderness Tours. Food will be provided by your lovely executives and volunteers. Campfires and sing alongs will definitely be happening, it’s sure to be a good time!
